Guest Post Response!
I am so excited to introduce my guest blogger, student Sabrina Q., who runs a blog for Writing 212. She submitted a recipe that is right up my alley! Check it out below:
Hi! My name is Sabrina, I run a blog titled Fake Chicken and Serial Killers which is mostly reactions to documentaries, though I do try to put up recipes that I have tried. Today, though, I wanted to introduce you to one of my all-time favorite recipes to make – roasted chickpeas. My mom used to make them all the time for me and my siblings, but I was a stubborn child who swore I hated chickpeas, even though I had never really tried them. And so, for the longest time I refused to eat them, but she had three kids, and often confused who liked what, or didn’t like certain foods, and so she just kept making them because she thought we all loved them. So, one day I broke down and tried them, even though I swore I would hate them – and they have been my go-to food to make ever since. They’re so incredibly easy and can be eaten alone or added to pretty much everything. They do take a bit of time, but only about five minutes to prep. All you need is
- · One can of Chickpeas
- · Salt
- · Pepper
- · Either fresh or powdered Garlic
- · Olive Oil
Preheat the oven to 425, then drain and rinse your chickpeas. Spread them out on a baking sheet, the more spread out they are, the crispier they will get, and drizzle them with olive oil. Then, just smother them with garlic, salt and pepper. The amount of garlic really just depends on your taste, although you will need to use a lot more if you choose to use fresh garlic, though it is totally worth the time to chop it. Then, stick it in the oven for 40 – 45 minutes. I love eating them alone, although they are also great on a salad, or really anything you would put chickpeas in.
