J and Samps at the Winter Tournament

Sampson had a great time at the Winter Hockey Tournament, reveling in the snowfall, the snuffling of skaters, and the endless supply of burnt hot dogs.

This weather is his glory weather. He loves using those enormous webbed feet of his to break the ice and make a drinking hole on the pond. He is thrilled to sled with the kids, or stand on his hind legs with his paws on the boards and watch them skate by as his breath steams up the glass. (More than one opposing player did a double take at the seeming bear head watching and panting!)

He was delighted to come home with his Tournament Champion Pee-Wee and snuggle up for the night. 

I'm sure if I could read his mind, I'd catch him contemplating another year of naughtiness, chewing up important items, running away, not coming when called and other basic canine shenanighans.
